Daplos Bundle Laravel Package

yoanbernabeu/daplos-bundle

Symfony bundle for integrating DAPLOS into PHP applications. It handles configuration and service wiring, provides convenient API clients and helpers, and streamlines authentication, requests, and response handling so you can add DAPLOS-powered workflows with less boilerplate.

Technical Evaluation

Architecture fit: This package provides DAPLOS parsing, validation, and export capabilities, which fits a Laravel application as a domain service behind an application-level adapter. v0.10.0 strengthens the package’s compliance value: StrictReferentialValidator now checks every coded field from the DAPLOS v0.95 guide, and the exporter adds observability for truncation. For a TPM, the release improves data-quality controls but introduces a new validation-error surface that must be designed into import workflows rather than treated as a drop-in patch.

Integration feasibility: Feasible for a PHP/Laravel stack via Composer, service-container bindings, configuration publishing, and scheduled reference synchronization. The release states that no signatures change, default export output remains identical to v0.9.1, and truncation behavior is observable through DaplosFileExporter::getTruncations() or enforceable through exporter.fail_on_truncation. The main integration caveat is stack ambiguity: the release notes reference Symfony console commands and generated config/reference.php; the Laravel wrapper or bridging layer must be confirmed before planning.

Technical risk: The primary risk is behavioral, not API-level. New validator errors can appear on files that were previously accepted, especially for codeUniteRendement (ZHK at DP 103-105) on files from real market issuers. If the application currently treats validator output as blocking—refusing imports, failing jobs, or alerting support—this upgrade can cause production rejections immediately after deployment. A secondary risk is truncation: export remains non-blocking by default, so teams that do not consume getTruncations() or enable fail_on_truncation will still produce truncated files without enforcement. Parser/exporter asymmetry is also material: the parser reads DT and PV BBCH/comment areas beyond guide widths to avoid data loss, so re-exporting such files can truncate data; v0.10.0 now signals this but does not prevent it unless configured. Removed validations for fields not in v0.95 reduce false positives but may affect downstream assumptions.

Key questions:

  • Does our Laravel integration expose the Symfony-style daplos:sync command and config/reference.php, or is a wrapper required?
  • Which downstream workflows treat validator errors as blocking versus advisory?
  • Do our reference files contain ZHK or other codes absent from the synchronized “Unité de mesure” referential?
  • Which custom writers implement LineWriterInterface directly and therefore will not report truncations?
  • Should production exports fail on truncation, or only log and alert?
  • What is the accepted process for reference synchronization and validation-baseline updates?

Integration Approach

Stack fit: Install v0.10.0 as a Composer dependency, bind the validator and DaplosFileExporter in the Laravel service container, publish package configuration, and route file ingestion/export through queued jobs for batch workloads. Store source and generated DAPLOS files on configured storage disks. Schedule daplos:sync --all as an operational job to decode HTML entities in existing labels. If the package is Symfony-first, add a thin Laravel adapter rather than embedding console assumptions in domain code.

Migration path: Upgrade in a staging environment first and replay a representative corpus of production DAPLOS files. Run daplos:sync --all to correct existing labels. Capture validator output before and after the upgrade, triage new errors, and decide whether they are warnings or blockers in application policy. Add getTruncations() logging to every export path. Enable exporter.fail_on_truncation: true in non-production first, then decide per environment. For custom writers, confirm whether they extend AbstractLineWriter; if they implement LineWriterInterface directly, add explicit truncation capture or accept that truncations will not be reported.

Compatibility: Default export behavior is backward-compatible with v0.9.1, and validator method signatures are unchanged. New validation errors are additive, while removed checks for codeJustificationCulture, codeUniteSurface, codeModeProduction, and deprecated Historique::codeTraitementResidus are subtractive. Applications versioning generated Symfony config will see fail_on_truncation appear. PHP and Laravel version constraints should be verified against the package’s composer requirements before scheduling the upgrade.

Sequencing: 1) Pin v0.10.0 in development; 2) run reference synchronization; 3) replay reference files and diff validator results; 4) triage new errors, especially unit codes such as ZHK; 5) add truncation logging/monitoring around exports; 6) optionally enable fail_on_truncation for controlled environments; 7) canary the release with a limited file set; 8) roll out to production with a rollback plan that includes the previous package version and a validation-baseline snapshot.

Operational Impact

Maintenance: The package now tracks DAPLOS guide v0.95 more completely, which is positive for compliance but increases the need for a maintained validation baseline and recurring reference synchronization. Each future guide update may add or remove coded-field checks, so the team should own a small regression corpus and an error catalogue. Documentation updates in docs/utilisation-code.md and docs/exporter.md should be linked from internal runbooks.

Support: Support and operations teams will see new validator messages and truncation reports. They need clear guidance on which validator findings are advisory versus blocking at the application layer, because the package itself “signals only” and does not block. Truncation reports should include FLAG, position, line number, full value, and written value so support can triage data loss without re-parsing files manually.

Scaling: File-based parsing and export should be queued and bounded by file size and batch concurrency. Truncation tracking adds per-export bookkeeping; monitor memory and job duration for large batches. Reference synchronization should be idempotent and scheduled outside peak import windows. If fail_on_truncation is enabled, batch exports can halt on the first truncation, so pair it with retry/alerting and an operator override path.

Failure modes: The most likely production failure is a previously valid file being rejected because the application treats new validator errors as blocking—particularly missing or unexpected unit codes. The second is silent data loss if truncation reporting is not consumed; default export still writes truncated files. Direct LineWriterInterface implementations are a blind spot because they continue to work without truncation signaling. HTML entity labels may remain malformed until synchronization is rerun. Enabling fail_on_truncation without operational handling can stop export pipelines. Round-tripping files with DT or PV values beyond guide widths can still truncate on export, now visibly.

Ramp-up: Moderate. Engineers need to understand DAPLOS field positions, validator semantics, and the exporter’s truncation model. TPM should allocate time for corpus replay, error triage, and support enablement before production rollout. The release is not a simple dependency bump because its main value—stricter validation and truncation visibility—changes operational behavior even though APIs remain stable.
