uisits/laravel-oidc
A Laravel package for OpenID Connect (OIDC) authentication, helping you integrate external identity providers and add secure single sign-on to your application with minimal configuration.

Look elsewhere (or reassess) when:
To executives: This is an accelerator for enterprise readiness. Enterprise and mid-market buyers routinely make SSO a gating requirement in security review; a Laravel OIDC package lets us deliver "sign in with your company identity provider" in weeks rather than quarters, using a standards-based approach instead of custom auth code. The strategic win is unblocking deals and strengthening our security posture without turning authentication into a bespoke product we have to own forever. The caveat to flag: it is a community dependency, so we should treat vendor/maintenance diligence as part of adoption, and we should be explicit that it covers authentication, not role/permission management.
To engineering: Adopt it as the OIDC relying-party layer rather than hand-rolling token validation — protocol correctness is easy to get subtly wrong and expensive to audit. Scope it deliberately: OIDC login and user provisioning only; authorization, tenancy policy, and provisioning lifecycle (SCIM) stay in our domain. Two engineering actions before commitment: (1) pin and verify the Laravel/PHP version constraints and confirm v3.x behavior against our stack, and (2) review the v3.0.1 → v3.0.3 changes directly in the repository, since the release notes provide only a diff link — we need to know whether those patches touched token validation or flow handling before we depend on them in production.
