To executives: This is a maintenance release, not a feature release. Its value is optionality — it keeps a dependency in our stack current with the framework we plan to run on, which avoids a future fork, a replacement evaluation, or a delayed upgrade. The cost of taking it is a patch bump and one CI run; the cost of skipping it compounds the next time we plan a platform upgrade. Frame it as insurance on the upgrade roadmap, not as delivered capability. Do not represent it as progress against product goals.
To engineering: v1.1.1 widens the supported dependency range to Symfony 7.x and contains no behavioural changes. Two things to verify before we bump: (1) our PHP floor and CI matrix actually cover the Symfony 7 requirement, and (2) the constraint resolution does not silently pull newer transitive versions into the lockfile. Treat it as a low-risk, high-leverage upgrade — schedule it with the next routine dependency sweep rather than as a standalone change, and confirm the package remains compatible if we are still straddling an older Laravel line. If we are not yet on Symfony 7, take the bump anyway where constraints allow; it costs nothing now and removes a blocker later.
