sylius/admin-api-bundle
Sylius Admin API Bundle exposes a RESTful administration API for Sylius e-commerce applications, with endpoints for managing products, orders, customers, and other resources to power headless admin interfaces and integrations.
Consider it only when all of the following hold:
Look elsewhere when:
^5.4 and Sylius at 1.12; there is no path past those versions and no dependents to absorb the maintenance. For executives: This is an archived, MIT-licensed Sylius component that exposes the eCommerce admin back office as a REST API. The new v1.12.0 release is maintenance, not revival: it extends compatibility to Sylius 1.11/1.12, adds payment-method CRUD, and drops Sylius 1.10 and Symfony 4.4. It remains a zero-buy recommendation. The commercial implication is a possible small migration line item for any property in our portfolio on Sylius 1.10–1.12; the version window we'd need to migrate is now slightly wider than previously assessed, but the direction is unchanged. The real value is informational: a free, battle-tested reference for what an admin API must cover — useful for sharpening estimates on our own API-first back-office work at no cost and no dependency risk.
For engineering: Treat sylius/admin-api-bundle as read-only reference material. Do not add it to any new dependency graph. v1.12.0 changes two facts on the ground: (1) the compatibility window is Sylius 1.11–1.12 with Symfony ^5.4, so re-check which services are actually pinned here — 1.10 shops cannot use this tag and 1.12 shops have a clean stopping point; (2) payment methods gained full CRUD, so capture that resource along with orders/products/customers/promotions/shipments in the behavior inventory before migrating to the in-core admin API. Scope removal as part of the next Sylius upgrade and expect to own any fork completely — no upstream patches, no PHP/Symfony work past 5.4, no Sylius ≥1.13 support. Also flag that it is a Symfony/Sylius bundle, not Laravel, so it should be excluded from Laravel-oriented package shortlists to avoid noise in future reviews.
