statikbe/laravel-filament-flexible-content-blocks
A Laravel and Filament package for creating flexible, reusable content blocks. Define block types, manage page sections with a visual editor, and render dynamic layouts without hardcoding templates—ideal for CMS-style pages and maintainable content structure.

For executives: We evaluated a Laravel package that gives us an editor-friendly, block-based content system plugged directly into our existing admin panel. The short version: it lets non-engineers assemble and edit marketing and editorial pages without engineering time, and the newest release (v4.2) adds in-admin rendering of those blocks, which means editors can see what they are building while they build it. It is a small open-source dependency with no licence cost and no new infrastructure. The trade-off is that it is community-maintained rather than vendor-supported, and it only pays off if we stay on Filament — which we are. Recommendation: adopt for content editing, with version pinning and a periodic dependency review.
For engineering: This is a Laravel-native, Filament-integrated flexible content block package. v4.2 adds a Filament theme for rendering content blocks within the admin panel — the meaningful change in this release; the rest is Dependabot Vite bumps (8.2.2 → 8.3.3). No breaking changes or deprecations are signalled in the release notes, so the upgrade from 4.1.8 looks low-risk but should still be exercised against our block views. Adopting it means we own our block type definitions and their Blade rendering; we are not owning the editor, the storage model, or the Filament glue. Budget a short spike to confirm Filament version compatibility and to prototype two or three block types, and pin the version in composer.json rather than floating on ^4.
Decision requested: Approval for a time-boxed spike to validate the package against our Filament version and existing content requirements, with a go/no-go before any production content is authored in it.
