Scope note: this assessment is anchored to the single change in 3.2.2 — added Symfony 4 support. No prior assessment exists and no package metadata was supplied, so claims below are limited to what that changelog entry evidences.
composer.json.Executive. A routine patch release extends this package to a second major PHP framework. The practical effect is that a single dependency can serve both our Laravel and Symfony services, which lowers integration maintenance cost and simplifies any future consolidation or migration. The change is additive and low-risk — no migration project required. The one thing to verify is whether the Symfony version in question is a platform we still support; if it is one we are retiring, we should not adopt on that basis alone.
Engineering. 3.2.2 adds Symfony 4 support on top of the existing Laravel surface. Patch-level, additive, expect a drop-in upgrade. Two asks before we standardize: confirm the CI matrix actually exercises Symfony 4 rather than just declaring it, and confirm our Laravel and PHP versions sit inside the supported range. If both hold, this is a low-cost consolidation win. If the Symfony lane exists only for a runtime we are exiting, we skip it and stay on the Laravel-only path.
