psx/schema
PSX Schema describes database schemas in a JSON or YAML definition, then generates Doctrine DBAL schema, PHP model classes, and other formats. It can import existing schemas from MySQL or Doctrine, keeping database structure portable, version-controllable, and easy to evolve in PHP applications.
For executives: This is a small, permissively licensed PHP utility that could reduce custom work for schema parsing and generation. It is not a strategic platform bet: adoption is low, so we should validate it in a contained pilot before tying roadmap commitments to it.
For engineering: It offers reusable schema parse/generate capabilities without vendor lock-in, but it is framework-agnostic and low-adoption. Integrate behind an internal interface, add contract tests around the formats we care about, and avoid spreading its API directly through the codebase. Measure maintenance activity, format coverage, and failure modes during the pilot.
Recommendation: Explore only if schema parsing/generation is on the near-term roadmap and a 1–2 sprint spike can prove fit. Otherwise, prefer more established tooling or a narrow custom implementation.
