Consider adoption when:
Look elsewhere when:
For executives (30 seconds). This is a Laravel package that lets us skip building a capability nobody buys us for. Adopting it trades a multi-week build for a short integration and an ongoing dependency we have to track. It's pre-1.0, so I'd frame it as a reversible bet with a defined exit: we wrap it behind our own interface, so if it stalls we swap it out without rework in the product. The ask is engineering time for integration, not a strategic commitment.
For engineering leads (the real conversation). Three things I need from you before we commit: (1) does its supported Laravel range survive our next two upgrades; (2) what does the wrapper look like, so we are not importing it into 40 files; (3) what's the trigger that makes us fork or replace it. If we can't answer all three cheaply, the honest recommendation is to build the minimal version ourselves.
The one-line version. Commodity capability, reversible dependency, small integration cost, clear exit — the decision to make now is whether to adopt behind a wrapper, not whether to bet the roadmap on it.
