Log::spy() and fake facilities; the marginal value may not justify another dependency. For executives: This is a small, low-risk test-tooling dependency. The latest patch is housekeeping — it removes support for Laravel 10, which is end-of-life, and fixes test flakiness on Laravel 11. Adopting it aligns us with supported framework versions and reduces the custom test code we maintain ourselves. No production runtime impact.
For engineering: v2.0.1 is a patch release focused on CI compatibility: Laravel 10 support is dropped, and log testing is fixed across Laravel 11 versions. If you are on Laravel 11+, this is the version to take and it should make log assertions stable across minor upgrades. If any service is still on Laravel 10, it cannot adopt v2.0.1 and should not be upgraded until that migration lands. Validate against our own test suite before wider rollout, and pin the version so CI behaviour does not shift underneath us.
