Filament Builder Title adds a builder-style title field to Filament admin resources, letting you compose, edit, and display dynamic titles directly in forms and tables. Lightweight, easy to install, and simple to integrate into existing Filament projects.
itemLabel on Builder blocks into an inline, editable title input in the block header — so editors can name a section ("Hero", "Testimonials", "Pricing") without expanding the block schema. This is a direct lever on "time to publish" and "clicks per edit" for any CMS/admin surface we ship on Filament.Repeater::->title() macro extends the same inline-title pattern to repeater rows (FAQ entries, pricing tiers, nav links, feature lists). It replaces the static itemLabel when paired with Hidden::make($field), which means one consistent "name your row" interaction across both Builder and Repeater — a small but visible consistency win in admin UI.->preview() blocks (which Filament static-renders detached, so the wire path can't be resolved server-side) and resolves the path client-side from the builder item's DOM, which is correct for nested builders too. That matters for roadmap items involving multi-column/nested content layouts and preview-driven editing flows.->preview() has been shipping a degraded editing experience; this release is the remediation, and the added detached-block regression guard is the kind of test coverage we want before leaning on the package in a customer-facing admin.Adopt when:
->preview() blocks and/or nested builders. This release explicitly targets both, and the client-side path resolution is the correct fix for detached rendering — do not stay on 0.2.x if this describes us.Hidden::make($field) for the underlying field.Look elsewhere when:
firstError(), or title-driven search/indexing. Those would be custom work regardless.Executive summary. A small, single-purpose Filament add-on that makes section and row titles editable in place in our admin builder, instead of read-only labels. The practical effect is fewer clicks and less friction for content editors naming sections and repeatable items — a UX improvement in the authoring surface, not an architectural change. v0.3.0 fixes a real regression from v0.2.0 (preview blocks had lost their editable header) and extends the same behavior to repeater rows, so the package now covers both of our repeating-content patterns with one interaction model.
For engineering. Macros only: no migrations, no schema or data-model changes, no runtime services. v0.3.0 rebuilds the header input's wire path client-side from the builder item's DOM (x-sortable-item + x-on:builder-expand.window), which is the correct approach for detached ->preview() blocks and holds for nested builders; the release adds a render test asserting deep state-path binding plus a detached-block unit regression guard. New Repeater::->title() macro, intended to be paired with Hidden::make($field). Internal cleanup: shared titleInput()/firstError() helpers, and the macro closures' : static return type was dropped to clear a false intelephense(P1006).
Recommendation and caveats. Adopt (or upgrade to v0.3.0 immediately if already on 0.2.x with preview blocks). Pin the version — it is pre-1.0 and the 0.2.0 → 0.3.0 history shows the title-input path is the fragile part — and keep our own smoke test on preview and nested builders so a future upstream regression is caught in our suite rather than by editors.
