Adopt when most of the following hold:
Look elsewhere when:
For executives: This package has reached its first stable release, which is the point at which we can depend on it without absorbing churn. It is a candidate to replace work we would otherwise build and maintain internally, and it lets us sequence a roadmap item that was previously blocked on API stability. The decision in front of us is not "adopt or not" but "adopt now, or defer and keep paying for the alternative." I recommend a time-boxed evaluation in one non-critical surface before we commit it to anything revenue-facing.
For engineering: Treat 1.0 as the start of a support relationship, not the end of an evaluation. Before it goes anywhere load-bearing we want: a pinned version, a smoke test in CI against our supported Laravel and PHP matrix, confirmation that config and migrations are publishable and reversible, and a written answer on upgrade cadence and breaking-change policy. Two things to watch — how quickly it tracks Laravel majors, and whether the public API at 1.0 is the API we actually need or one we will end up wrapping. Time-box the spike and be willing to say no.
