Text Auto Complete is a Laravel package for adding autocomplete suggestions to text inputs. Wire up models or custom data sources to return matching results as users type, with configurable endpoints and markup ready for your Blade views.
Text field that adds browser-native autocomplete suggestions from a hardcoded PHP array. It does not touch your domain model, API surface, or customer experience.app/Nova/Fields?" Given 2 stars, zero dependents, and a last release of January 2021, the package is effectively unmaintained. The PM-relevant conclusion is that this is a vendoring candidate, not a dependency candidate.Select or an enum-backed field instead.Consider it only when all of the following hold:
Look elsewhere when:
BelongsTo / searchable relationship fields or a maintained autocomplete field instead.Select, enums, or a validation rule. For executives: This is a small, optional convenience for our internal admin panel. It adds type-ahead suggestions to a few back-office text fields, which nudges operators toward consistent naming and reduces small data-entry errors. It is not customer-facing, it is not on the product roadmap, and it carries no revenue or strategic weight. Cost is effectively zero, and the risk is contained because the code is tiny and can be copied in-house rather than depended upon. Recommendation: treat it as an admin quality-of-life item to be picked up opportunistically, not a funded initiative.
For engineering: This is a ~100-line Nova field that extends the standard Text field to attach a datalist of allowed values. The package is unmaintained (last release January 2021, no dependents, negligible adoption), so the right move is to vendor the field class into app/Nova/Fields and own it rather than add a Composer dependency. It's roughly half a day of work either way. Do not use it where correctness matters — keep validated values in a Select or enum-backed field, and use relationship fields for anything that needs real search. If we're on Nova 4/5, budget a short compatibility spike before committing to the approach.
