laragear/rewind
Rewind adds undo history to Laravel Eloquent models. It records model changes and lets you restore previous states, so you can safely revert updates, deletes, and other modifications through a simple API—ideal for audit trails, recovery, and user-facing undo features.

For executives: This is a small, low-cost capability that buys a disproportionate amount of user trust — the ability to undo a mistaken destructive action without filing a support ticket. It is a buy, not a build: adopting it replaces weeks of engineering on change-journaling and rollback logic with an integration and a schema addition. The trade-off is a new table set and a dependency we must keep current; the risk is contained because the library is scoped to Eloquent state, not to our system of record.
For engineering: v3.0.0 is a major release off v2 — treat it as breaking until proven otherwise, since the published notes carry no migration summary. Recommended path: (1) pin to ^3.0 explicitly, (2) diff v2.0.0...v3.0.0 and read the upgrade guide before touching it, (3) run a short spike on one low-risk model to measure write overhead and confirm relation-rollback behavior, (4) gate adoption behind a feature flag on a single destructive surface. If we are already on v2, budget the upgrade as a discrete ticket — do not fold it into unrelated work, and do not upgrade without a rollback plan for the package's own tables.
