Bring Laravel-style service providers and facades to Slim 3. Slim Services adds a service container, provider bootstrapping, and static facades so you can organize dependencies and app bootstrapping the way you would in Laravel.
To executives: This is a small, tactical lever, not a strategic bet. It lets lightweight services reuse our existing Laravel investments — packages we've already paid for and validated — instead of funding new integration work. The upside is delivery speed on low-risk services; the downside is a thinly maintained open-source dependency, so we adopt it only where failure is containable and we keep an exit path. Recommendation: approve for scoped, internal use, not as a platform standard.
To engineering: It gives Slim the Laravel service-provider and container lifecycle — drop-in Laravel packages, no hand-rolled bootstrapping. It's dated and low-adoption, so treat it as a compatibility shim: pin the version, wrap it behind our own service registration layer, document the exit path to a native PSR-11 container, and don't let it become load-bearing for anything customer-critical.
