gcego/blueprints
A Laravel package for defining and generating application blueprints, letting you scaffold models, migrations, and related code from a single declarative definition. Streamline repetitive setup with reusable templates and keep your project structure consistent.
Evidence caveat: this is the package's first stable cut (v1.0.0) and the published changelog is self-referential — it contains no itemized features, fixes, or breaking-change notes. There is no prior assessment and no usage data. The guidance below is therefore a category-level read of a Laravel code-generation/scaffolding package, not a feature-level audit. Treat it as a basis for deciding whether to evaluate, not as an adoption decision.
Look at it when:
require-dev), keeping production blast radius near zero.Look elsewhere when:
artisan make:* plus your own stubs carries less long-term risk. For executives: This is developer-only tooling that reduces boilerplate and makes how we scaffold Laravel services consistent across teams. The request is not to adopt it — it is a time-boxed spike (one to two days, one engineer) to see whether it reproduces our standard set of artifacts without manual fixes. Cost is bounded, it never ships to production, and it is reversible by deleting a dev dependency. The upside if it fits is less duplicated generator code for us to own, and faster service bootstrapping.
For engineering: v1.0.0 is a first stable tag, but the changelog is empty and there is no usage history, so treat maturity as unproven. It would enter as require-dev, version-pinned, with generated files reviewed in normal PRs rather than trusted blindly. The spike should measure: coverage of our artifact set (model, migration, factory, policy, resource), fit with our naming and namespace conventions, behavior on our Laravel/PHP matrix, quality of the test suite, and what an upgrade looks like if the API moves. Exit criteria: the spike produces our standard artifact set with no hand-edits and passing tests. If it fails any of those, we stay on artisan make:* plus internal stubs and revisit at the next minor release.
