Tokopedia Php Sdk Laravel Package

gandung/tokopedia-php-sdk

A PHP SDK for integrating Tokopedia's API into Laravel or plain PHP apps, offering convenient wrappers for authentication and common seller endpoints so you can manage products, orders, and shop data with less boilerplate.

Product Decisions This Supports

  • Marketplace expansion: "Should Tokopedia be our next sales channel?" This SDK is the fastest way to run a feasibility spike against Tokopedia's REST API (auth, product listing, order retrieval) before committing roadmap capacity. It answers "what does the integration surface look like?" cheaply.
  • Build vs. buy for the marketplace integration layer. Use it to benchmark the minimum viable wrapper: if a 12-star, four-year-old SDK covers 80% of your needed calls, the real work is in your own orchestration layer (sync, retries, reconciliation), not in API plumbing — that reframes the build estimate.
  • Architecture: mandate an anti-corruption/adapter layer. Its low maturity (12 stars, 0 dependents, last release 2021-09-01) is an argument for wrapping any third-party marketplace SDK behind an internal interface so the vendor can be swapped without touching domain code. This decision is reusable for every channel you add.
  • Roadmap sequencing for SEA/Indonesia expansion. Concrete evidence of API capabilities and gaps (which objects are exposed, what pagination/auth looks like) improves sizing on an omnichannel order management or seller-tooling epic.
  • Use cases it directly enables in a spike or internal tool: catalog/price/stock push, order pull and fulfillment status sync, storefront ops dashboards, and migration/backfill scripts for a new channel.
  • Vendor and risk posture. BSD-3-Clause is permissive and commercially safe; the maintenance risk is the release cadence, not the license. That is a governance decision (who owns forks) more than a legal one.
  • What it should not decide: production SLA commitments, pricing, or a public API promise to customers. With no dependents and no releases since 2021, it is not evidence of ecosystem stability.

When to Consider This Package

Consider it when:

  • You are validating Tokopedia as a channel and want a working PHP/Laravel prototype in days, not weeks.
  • The consumer is internal tooling, an admin back office, a one-off data migration, or a hackathon/POC where downtime is acceptable.
  • Your team is PHP/Laravel-native and would otherwise hand-roll HTTP, auth, and serialization — the SDK's main value is as a reference implementation of Tokopedia's request shape and auth flow.
  • You need a permissive license (BSD-3-Clause) with no copyleft concerns and no procurement friction.
  • You are prepared to fork it, pin it, and own it — i.e., you treat it as vendored source, not a dependency.

Look elsewhere (or build in-house) when:

  • You need production guarantees: rate-limit handling, retries/backoff, idempotency, webhook handling, observability, typed error surfaces. Expect to add all of this yourself.
  • You need API surface added since 2021 (newer endpoint versions, fulfillment/logistics, promotions, finance/settlement). A stale SDK will silently lag the platform.
  • Your security review requires an actively maintained dependency with CVE monitoring; 0 dependents and no recent releases means no downstream scrutiny.
  • Compliance/audit requires a supported vendor or an official Tokopedia/GoTo integration path — prefer official docs plus a thin in-house client you control.
  • You need multi-channel breadth rather than one marketplace: a commercial integration platform (iPaaS/middleware) or a maintained multi-marketplace aggregator will beat a single-market, single-maintainer SDK on total cost of ownership.
  • Your stack is not PHP — do not introduce PHP just for this.

Adoption gate: require a named internal owner, a fork-and-patch plan, and a documented exit path (the adapter interface) before it touches anything customer-facing.

How to Pitch It (Stakeholders)

To executives: This is a small, free, permissively licensed PHP connector to Tokopedia's API. It is not a platform bet — it is a cheap way to de-risk a market-entry question. For roughly a sprint of engineering time we can prove out whether Tokopedia integration is viable and get a real estimate for the full channel build. The caveats are honest and manageable: last release was 2021, adoption is negligible, and no one else depends on it, so we would fork it and own the maintenance. That cost is small and bounded, and our architecture isolates it so we can replace it without rework. Recommendation: approve a time-boxed spike with an explicit go/no-go, not a production dependency.

To engineering: Treat this as reference source, not a library. Wrap it behind our own MarketplaceClient interface, vendor it in-repo, pin it, and assume responsibility for auth refresh, retries, rate limits, and error mapping — none of which it gives us. Budget for drift against the live Tokopedia API and validate every endpoint against current official docs before we build on it. Success criterion for the spike: a documented list of endpoints we actually need, plus a fork/maintenance estimate. If that list is small, the honest answer may be to write our own 300-line client and skip the dependency entirely.

Ask: one time-boxed spike, a named owner, and a go/no-go checkpoint before any production commitment.
