Feature Flag Bundle Laravel Package

em411/feature-flag-bundle

A Symfony bundle for feature flags: enable or disable code paths based on context-aware callables. This is a Symfony 4.4 / PHP 7.4 backport of ajgarlag/feature-flag-bundle, keeping the same API and namespace for a drop-in upgrade from the upstream package.

1.0.5

CI maintenance release. No runtime changes.

Changed

  • CI: bumped actions/checkout v4 → v6 and actions/cache v4 → v5 to run on Node.js 24. GitHub deprecated Node.js 20 for Actions; the older versions emitted deprecation warnings on every run and will stop working in September 2026. No effect on the published package.

See CHANGELOG.md for the full history.

1.0.4

CI fix release. No runtime changes.

Fixed

  • CI: composer dependency resolution failed against the latest packages because Symfony 4.4 and Twig 2.x carry security advisories that newer Composer versions now block by default. Set config.audit.block-insecure: false — Symfony 4.4 is EOL upstream and users on this backport already accept the EOL security posture. Advisories are still reported on install, just not blocking.
  • CI: twig/twig 3.26.0 was released with a PHP 8.1+ requirement, breaking the PHP 8.0 leg of the matrix. Capped the require-dev constraint to ^2.12 | >=3.0,<3.7. End users are unaffected (Twig is not in require).

See CHANGELOG.md for the full history.

1.0.3

First Packagist release. Pre-launch polish on top of 1.0.2.

Added

  • CHANGELOG.md.
  • README badges (CI, Packagist version, license).
  • README "Which package should I use?" section pointing modern stacks to the upstream ajgarlag/feature-flag-bundle.
  • README note explaining why the PHP namespace stays Ajgarlag\FeatureFlagBundle\ despite the em411/* package name.
  • Explicit Antonio J. García Lagar copyright line in LICENSE; explicit em411 maintainer entry.
  • composer.json authors now lists upstream maintainer ajgarlag and the backport maintainer em411 with role annotations.

Changed

  • Clarified the duplicate-feature error message in FeatureFlagPass: it no longer references the misnamed ajgarlag.feature_flag.provider.in_memory service.
  • composer.json minimum-stability: dev → stable.

See CHANGELOG.md for the full history.

1.0.2

Fixed

  • Use the Twig 2-compatible name=value form for profiler_dump's maxDepth argument in the feature-flag profiler panel. The colon-style maxDepth: 2 syntax only landed in Twig 3.12.0, so on Twig 2.x and Twig 3.0–3.11 the panel crashed with Twig\Error\SyntaxError: Arguments must be separated by a comma. Follow-up to 1.0.1 (#3).
1.0.1

Fixed

  • Override Bundle::getPath() so Symfony resolves bundle resources (notably Resources/views/) relative to the project root instead of src/. Without this, enabling web-profiler-bundle raised UnexpectedValueException: The profiler template "[@FeatureFlag](https://github.com/FeatureFlag)/Collector/feature_flag.html.twig" for data collector "ajgarlag.feature_flag" does not exist. on every request (#2).
1.0.0

First release of the Symfony 4.4 / PHP 7.4 backport of ajgarlag/feature-flag-bundle, published as the em411/feature-flag-bundle package.

Functionally equivalent to upstream 0.3.0, refactored to run on the older platform:

  • PHP 7.4 — no attributes, constructor promotion, readonly, mixed, union types or throw expressions.
  • Feature declaration via the [@AsFeature](https://github.com/AsFeature) Doctrine annotation (a compiler pass scans autoconfigured services), plus the ajgarlag.feature_flag.feature service tag.
  • Symfony 4.4 — classic Bundle, XML service config, class_exists() integration gating.
  • Feature closures stay lazy via a locator-backed ServiceProvider (no \Closure proxying).
  • Twig functions and the web profiler panel retained.
  • Routing integration removed — Symfony 4.4 has no condition services (see the README for a controller-level alternative).

Verified: full test suite green (25 tests) on PHP 7.4 and PHP 8.0 × Symfony 4.4.
