Getting Started

Install via Composer: composer require vendor/package (replace with the actual package name from Packagist).
Confirm your environment runs PHP 8.4 or a supported version. Version 0.7.7 adds PHP 8.4 support, so update composer.json ("php": "^8.4") if you plan to use it there.
After install, Laravel’s package auto-discovery should register the service provider. Publish any config with php artisan vendor:publish --provider="Vendor\Package\ServiceProvider" and review the package README for the first concrete use case (e.g., a facade call, artisan command, or middleware).

Implementation Patterns

Resolve the package’s services from the container (constructor injection or app()), or use the provided facade if one exists.
Keep environment-specific settings in .env and reference them from the published config file; avoid hard-coding values in code.
If the package exposes events, macros, or custom bindings, hook into them in a service provider rather than modifying vendor code.
For tests, use Laravel’s facade mocking (Facade::shouldReceive(...)) or the package’s own testing helpers if documented.

PHP 8.4 support is new in 0.7.7; if you’re on PHP 8.3 or lower, check that the version you install matches your PHP constraint. Use composer why-not vendor/package 0.7.7 to diagnose conflicts.
Auto-discovery can be disabled in some environments; if the package doesn’t seem to load, verify bootstrap/cache/packages.php or manually register the provider.
Debugging: enable Laravel’s query log or Telescope, and check the package’s own logging channel if it provides one.
Extension points are usually documented as events, custom drivers, or config keys; prefer those over editing vendor files so upgrades stay painless.
