Content Faker is a Laravel package for generating realistic fake content with Faker. Quickly populate forms and models, seed demos, and preview layouts without manual data entry, streamlining development and testing workflows.
.md files, adopt this package as a dev dependency and generate structurally realistic documents (headings, lists, links, inline code, emphasis) on demand. Lower maintenance, less repo bloat.Faker\Generator lets teams register custom providers so demo content matches their domain vocabulary or branding, instead of generic Latin filler — useful for sales demos, design QA, and stakeholder reviews.Adopt when:
fake()->seed(...).withFaker() / make($faker) plus a custom Faker\Provider\Lorem subclass gets you there.Look elsewhere or extend when:
Lorem provider, which no locale overrides — a de_DE or ja_JP generator still emits Latin placeholder text. Overriding individual methods like paragraph() won't help, since Lorem calls its own methods internally; only a full Lorem subclass with a custom $wordList changes the prose. For executives: This is a small, free, open-source dev-time dependency that removes a recurring bottleneck — not having realistic content to build and demo content-heavy features against. It lets us ship docs, blog, and CMS-style interfaces faster, produce better-looking demos for customers and investors, and makes our automated tests more reliable. The v1.2.0 release adds reproducibility (same output every run, which stabilizes CI and screenshot tests) and lets teams plug in their own content generators for on-brand demo material. Risk is low: it's developer tooling, not shipped to customers, and existing usage is unaffected by the upgrade.
For engineering: Drop-in Laravel package wrapping Faker with a fluent API (markdown_faker()->docsPage()->render(), MarkdownFaker::make($faker)->article()). This release is backward compatible and adds two things we care about: (1) seeded output is now bit-for-bit reproducible, including inline decoration placement — previously random_int() ignored the seed — so snapshot tests and visual diffs become practical; (2) we can inject a preconfigured Faker\Generator via make(), the helpers, or the new fluent withFaker(), letting us register custom providers. Two caveats to encode in our usage guidelines: Faker's seed() seeds PHP's process-wide RNG, so seed immediately before generating the content you want reproduced; and generated prose is always Faker's Latin Lorem output regardless of locale — changing it requires a provider extending Faker\Provider\Lorem with a custom $wordList, not per-method overrides. Recommend adopting as a require-dev dependency with a shared test helper that seeds deterministically.
