Laravel package that warns you when a newer version of your application is available. It checks for updates and displays a configurable notice in your app's interface, helping you keep deployments current and users informed.
Adopt when most of these hold:
Look elsewhere or build in-house when:
For executives (one line): A small, low-risk dependency that costs less than a sprint-day to adopt, and removes the recurring "which version are they on?" question from support conversations. No infrastructure, no data model, no vendor lock-in — it's a config file and a banner.
For engineering: v4.1.0 is a maintenance release — a Trivy CVE scan added to the project's own CI, no breaking changes, no API or config drift, clean upgrade from v4.0.0. The real ask is a 20-minute spike: verify it supports our Laravel version and that our release metadata is reachable from the runtime. Note explicitly that the Trivy addition hardens their pipeline, not ours — do not let it be counted toward our security posture. Also flag the bus-factor: one maintainer, so we should be comfortable forking it if it's ever abandoned. Given the small surface area, that's an acceptable risk, but it should be a stated one rather than an assumed one.
