Symfony 7.1+: Extension now extends Symfony\Component\DependencyInjection\Extension\Extension instead of HttpKernel\DependencyInjection\Extension (the latter is deprecated in 7.1 and removed in 8.1). No breaking change; the base class is available from Symfony 4.0 onward (thanks to @mustanggb for opening the issue).
PHP 7.4 remains supported.
