amphp/thread
Thread-local storage for Amp applications. Store and retrieve values scoped to the current fiber or thread, keeping state isolated across concurrent tasks and preventing leaks between async operations. A small utility for safer context handling in Amp-based PHP apps.
amphp/thread is archived, unmaintained, and explicitly superseded by amphp/parallel. It does not fit a modern Laravel/PHP architecture where concurrency is normally handled by queue workers, Horizon, scheduler, process isolation, or Octane-aware tooling. Direct threading is rarely appropriate inside a Laravel request lifecycle.amphp/parallel, making continued use technical debt.Process, or amphp/parallel replace it? Which PHP version and extensions are required? Is it used only in CLI/workers or also web requests? Who owns remediation? What is the blast radius if removed?Illuminate\Process for subprocess isolation, and amphp/parallel only for justified CLI/worker CPU-bound parallelism.composer.json/composer.lock, identify direct and transitive usage, freeze new usage, add characterization tests around call sites, replace with amphp/parallel or Laravel-native concurrency, then remove the dependency. If immediate removal is impossible, isolate it behind an internal interface and run it in a legacy container. How can I help you explore Laravel packages today?
