v2.39.0

A new look for the Blade/Livewire screens, a searchable dropdown everywhere, and a journal entry form that is quick to use.

Changed

  • New design for the Blade and Livewire screens (Livewire starter kits, Jetstream, Breeze): one stylesheet (components/ui-styles) for all kits, light and dark, written as plain CSS so the host's Tailwind does not have to compile it. The page header has labelled buttons (Filters with the number of active filters, New entry), the filter panel stays open while a dropdown is used and shows what is filtered as chips, tables have a quiet header, tabular numbers and status pills, alerts have icons, language/company/branch sit in one context bar. The older screens that still use utility classes get the same look.
  • Select2 for every dropdown of the Blade screens (filters, forms, the company/branch/language switchers): search for long lists, clear button, keyboard, styled for the kit; also for selects added later by Livewire or Alpine. Opt out with class="no-select2". An option can carry data-code / data-tag to be drawn as number + name + type.
  • Journal entry form (Livewire/Blade): the lines are edited in the browser without a round trip per keystroke; every account is offered with its number the moment the dropdown opens (type the number or a part of the name), the base currency is chosen for you, a balance button puts the missing amount on a line, a new line starts with what is still missing, running totals and an Out of balance by … / Balanced bar stay in view, Ctrl+S saves, and problems are named line by line before anything is sent. The journal show and index screens were redone (amount, branch and approval columns, facts card, audit trail).
  • React: every native <select> (80 of them) and every Radix Select is now components/accounting/dropdown.tsx, a searchable dropdown with the same <option> children and onChange as a native select. The journal entry form got the same running totals, balance bar, balance button and checks; the index shows amount, branch and status pills.

Fixed

  • The Livewire journal form asked for an Accounting period that was never stored (the period is assigned when the entry is posted from its date); the field is gone and the show page says Set when posted.
  • A filter panel closed when a dropdown inside it was clicked, because the dropdown is drawn outside the panel.
v2.10.0

Professional PDFs and background exports release.

Added

  • Typeset report PDFs (dompdf, when installed): company letterhead with logo, NTN and address, report title, the filters used (period, account, status), right-aligned amount columns, debit/credit totals, "generated by … on …" and "Page X of Y" on every page. Without dompdf the built-in renderer is used, now with the company name and filters in its header. Settings under accounting.pdf (engine, paper, logo, number system).
  • Printable vouchers: /accounting/journal-entries/{id}/print (browser print) and /pdf (also GET /api/v1/accounting/journal-entries/{id}/pdf) — voucher type and number, dates, source document, lines with cost centers, totals, amount in words (international or Lakh/Crore), Prepared / Approved / Posted / Received signature boxes, and a DRAFT / VOID / REVERSED watermark. Print and PDF buttons on the entry page (React, Blade).
  • Background exports: Excel and PDF exports above accounting.export_max_rows are no longer refused — they are queued (GenerateReportExport job, re-checks the permission when it runs) and appear under My Exports (React and Blade), downloadable only by the user who asked for them. API: POST /reports/{report}/exports/{format}, GET /exports, GET /exports/{id}/download, DELETE /exports/{id}. accounting:prune-exports removes exports older than accounting.exports.keep_days (7). accounting.exports.queue_large=false keeps the old 422.
  • Export buttons (CSV / Excel / PDF / My exports) on every Blade report page.
  • AmountInWords helper, PdfRenderer service, ReportCatalog (the exportable reports and their PDF filters).

Changed

  • dompdf/dompdf is suggested (not required); install it for typeset PDFs.
